Milford. The Board of Directors of the United Way of Pike County has cancelled the 14th annual Golf Classic Tournament that was to be held at Woodloch Springs Country Club in Hawley on Aug. 3. “We had hoped to hold our annual tournament, which typically includes a continental breakfast and buffet luncheon, and raises much-needed funds that allow the United Way to carry on its mission to alleviate hunger and homelessness in Pike County, but this year it is just not feasible with the dining restrictions in place due to health and safety guidelines necessitated by COVID-19,” says United Way President Steve Guccini. The popular annual golf tournament is one of the organization’s largest fundraisers. It enables the United Way to help local people in need and enrich the lives of others. To offset the loss of tournament funds, individuals and businesses can give to the United Way by mailing donations, payable to the United Way of Pike County, to PO Box 806, Milford, PA 18337.
