American Legion Post 139 in Milford will be hosting their annual Senior Thanksgiving Give Back this Saturday, Nov. 21. This is a free event to all.

Every year we host and delivery a Thanksgiving meal to our local Veterans and Elderly in our Community that can not get out or it is just difficult for them to get out and just get a nice hot meal. We put a twist on it this year since we have been closed as of March 17.

We are asking for anyone that needs a meal delivered to call our phone line and leave a message at 570-296-8805 with your name, phone number, address and how many meals and our Commander, Connie Harvey, will get back to you thru out this week.

Usually we have a dine in service in our hall after our delivery services but again since we are closed we are opening our doors for a takeout from 1-4. Our take out is open to all. You must call on Friday from 10 to 4 and Saturday 9 to 1 and talk to a volunteer to reserve your meal for takeout on Saturday.

Delivery will start at 11 a.m.

Takeout will consist of you staying in your car and driving up to our kitchen door where a volunteer that is masked up will ask for your name and move you up to the next door where your meal will come out by another volunteer that is masked and gloved up. We will take all Covid safe measures as we have just made sure to be professionally cleaned and ready to go for this annual dinner.

As always, donations are much appreciated and accepted but not a mandate for your free meal. This is one of our many community give backs. We appreciate all that everyone has done to keep us moving forward during this trying time.

Do not forget every Friday is our Takeout Dinner. Watch Facebook for our meals or ask each week for next weeks meal. This is by reservation also.
