Maria Farrell has connected kids to our community, and us all to one another

    To the Editor:

Milford Borough is charming and picturesque, and I’ve been bowled over by the sense of community and camaraderie, and appreciation of the arts. But I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you that one of my favorite parts about this town isn’t the banh mi at Waterwheel, or the cupcakes from Wonderland’s Tea Party at the Farmer’s Market, or even going over the “Blue Bridge” up to the Milford Knob — but the playground. And so much of that is due to the incredible efforts of Maria Farrell.

For a mom with young kids, the park is the center of my world — and over the last year, I’ve seen such love and attention paid to not only the grounds (thank you for the needed mulch!), but given to what happens at this park. My daughter has never been to the movie theater due to Covid restrictions (she was too young to go before it hit), but we’ve gotten the opportunity to spend a lovely night under the stars and eating popcorn during Movie Night watching the Sandlot. Every Saturday morning, my “Queen of Storytime” shows up for another book, read by a member of our community, and she’s always the last to leave the craft table.

What Maria Farrell has done on this council to connect kids to our community, and us all to one another has more than earned her my vote — and I strongly encourage you to vote for her in the upcoming Nov. 2 election for MIlford Borough Council as well.
