The Hour of the Wolf

“The Hour of the Wolf” ye that may not know,

In the morning dark does anxiousness sow.

From a deep sleep between AM three to six,

Sudden awakening all problems to fix.

The quiet mind at its most vulnerable,

Enter disturbed, troubled and worried babel.

Angst dominates the relentless night thoughts,

Turning and twisting to resolve the onslaughts.

For all in our warring world, peace and health,

Soulful brotherhood among men is true wealth.

Then there is house repairs and the lawn to mow,

And personal matters in our mind’s depot.

We wrestle our thoughts for the deep sleep we yearn,

Battle weary, to the land of Nod we return.
