    Remembrance Ceremony Sept. 11, 9:30 a.m. Mountain Laurel Post 8612 VFW, Matamoras. Followed by light refreshments served at Walton Engine & Hose Company firehouse, Main Street. Remembers Thomas Dowd, Thomas Halohan, Lynne Irene Morris, Paul Ruback and Donald Tuzio, Chester residents killed on 9/11. Musical selections, readings from scripture and poetry. Village of Warwick Veterans Memorial Park, just off Forester Avenue Visitors should arrive by 8:30 a.m. The ceremony will begin at 8:46 a.m., the time when the first aircraft struck the tower. Conducted by American Legion Post 214 Commander Bruce Sutton. Greenwood Lake: Triathlon, candlelight memorial Warwick Town Beach/Thomas P. Waterfront Memorial Park The American Memorial Triathlon begins at 8:30 a.m. The Greenwood Lake Triathlon, was renamed The American Memorial Triathlon in September 2001 to honor the victims, volunteers and survivors of the terrorist attacks. The triathlon shirts read: “We Will Never Forget.” At 7 p.m. the community will gather back at the Waterfront Park for a candlelight memorial with music and remembrance. Public ceremony will honor the memory of the 44 Orange County residents who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, and to pay tribute to military personnel. Families and survivors of Sept. 11 and families of local military personnel are invited to participate and join the procession assembling at the Arboretum’s Ottaway Education Center at 4:30 p.m. The names of those who perished on September 11, as well as the names of servicemen who have died since that day will be read. A “Peace Through Music” concert will be held in the Raised Gardens of the Arboretum following the ceremony. Woodbury memorial Sunday, Sept. 11, 6 p.m. The Town of Woodbury Highland Mills Firehouse, Route 32, Highland Mills Parking available across the street at St. Patrick’s Church. The Woodbury community will hold a memorial to unveil a monument dedicated to all those who have lost their lives. Monroe A community service of remembrance and thanksgiving will be held on Sunday beginning at 7 p.m. along Route 17M at the gazebo near the ponds. In addition to a presentation of colors and laying of memorial wreath, there will be a variety of remarks, including from Village of Monroe Police Chief Dominick Guidice and a call to remembrance by Fire Chief Vini Tankasali. Boy and Girl Scout troops have been invited to participate in addition to police, fire and elected officials. There will also be candle lighting and an announcement of area residents who died with a bell toll. Members of clergy representing the various houses of worship are also participating and will offer prayers in addition to a litany of remembrance. Town of Tuxedo St. Mary’s- in- Tuxedo Episcopal Church in will host a community service beginning at 4 p.m. All are invited with local firefighters, emergency medical personnel and police as special guests, according to organizers.
