Charles Marvin Mitchell III

    Charles Marvin Mitchell III of Lackawaxen, Pa., died Monday, March 16, 2020, at Achieve Rehab & Nursing Home in Liberty, N.Y. He was 81.

    Son of the late Perl (Hackett) and Charles Marvin Mitchell Jr., he was born June 26, 1938, in Florence, Alabama.

    He served in the Navy during World War II and was a conductor for the Long Island Railroad.

    Charles liked to dance and was an avid pool player. He also loved to blow leaves and remove snow.

    He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (Zenguard) Mitchell, daughters, Deborah Mitchell of Centereach, N.Y., and Michelle Mitchell of Lackawaxen, Pa., and sons, Kenneth Mitchell of Williston Park, N.Y., and Jeffrey Mitchell Sr. of Lackawaxen; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel, Pa.
