Demolition upset

To the editor: In the Friday, October 20, 2006 edition of the Courier, I was very upset to read about the possibility of the demolition and expansion of Rite-Aid, at the corner of Harford Street and Broad (Street). As it is, it is an eyesore and should never have been built as it is, and the upkeep is deplorable. Wasn’t the recently expanded Wal-Mart Super store enough? What could Rite-Aid offer in an 11,000 square foot area that we couldn’t get elsewhere? The “anchor” of our historic district would be destroyed by a third rate drug chain. Do we really care about the corporate direction of Rite’Aid’s 3,400 stores? Marie L. Falotico Milford
