, N.Y. — This art show is literally perishable. Be sure to catch it before it fades.
From Friday, Aug. 4, through Sunday, Aug. 6, “Art in Bloom” will present live floral displays inspired by the paintings or sculptures of local artists. The exhibit will live its short life at Krause Recital Hall, 37 Main St., Narrowsburg, N.Y.
Jane Luchsinger “The positive response this show receives becomes the springboard to energize both the artists and the floral designers," said Jane Luchsinger, who curates “Art in Bloom" for the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance. "We look forward to viewing the meshing of these two creative talents.”
This year's exhibit was done in collaboration with the Tusten Youth Commission. Two works of art from an April workshop for youth ages four to 16 will be included, with interpretations by floral designers.
The public is invited to an opening reception on Friday, Aug. 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. The exhibition continues on Saturday, Aug. 5, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., or Sunday, Aug. 6, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The exhibit is made possible in part by a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
