An afternoon of photography and music

MILFORD — Two events for the community were held at Grey Towers on Saturday. The first was an exhibit of Clyde Butcher’s unique black and white landscape photography of our area. Butcher‘s naturalist photography has been likened to that of nature photographer Ansel Adams. The free exhibit and reception was cosponsored by the Friends of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area and the U.S. Forest Service at Grey Towers in conjunction with Milford Music Festival activities. There was also a free concert featuring the Parker String Quarter concert on the lawn at Grey Towers immediately following the exhibit featuring Butcher’s photography. The concert was cosponsored by Nancy and Peter Pinchot, as part of the Kindred Spirits Arts Program and by the U.S. Forest Service at Grey Towers. The Parker String Quartet was the winner of the 2005 Concert Artists Guild competition. The weather cooperated in perfect harmony with the wonderful setting of Grey Towers, the chamber music, and the landscape (both real and that portrayed by Butcher). About 200 people attended both events.
