'Animal Farm' takes the stage
PORT JERVIS — "Animal Farm" by George Orwell, first published in 1945, is a classic that hasn’t lost its significance.
The Presby Players will present an adaptation of this literary masterpiece at Marsh Hall, 60 Sussex St., in Port Jervis for three days beginning Sept. 8.
"Animal Farm" is often cited as one of the best English novels ever written. Come see why it remains relevant today.
Director Jeffrey Stocker says the play will be presented in the traditional style of “Reader’s Theater,” but with one major difference: the narrator, who is reading the book as a homework assignment, is a sixth-grader in real life.
Showtimes are as follows:
7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8
7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9
3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10
