Architecture tour at Grey Towers

MILFORD — An upcoming walks this month at Grey Towers focuses on the architecture of the 1886-French chateauesque mansion. The walk have been added to the regular Grey Towers tour schedule in response to requests for specialized and more in-depth programs in such areas as the unique architecture of the estate. On Saturday, June 27, at 1:30 p.m. join the Grey Towers Architecture Tour. What do the base of the Statue of Liberty and Grey Towers have in common? Find out as you learn about the unique architectural details of the mansion, built by James Pinchot in 1886. Regular tour fees apply for each program. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather as these programs are held outdoors rain or shine. Grey Towers National Historic Site, is at 122 Old Owego Turnpike in Milford. The ancestral home of the Pinchot family has a long-standing tradition of welcoming the public to the estate. Now managed by the US Forest Service with numerous partners, Grey Towers is an active conservation, education and leadership development center that offers interpretive tours and special programs that continue the family’s legacy.
