'Art as Spirituality' exhibition coming to Pocono Arts

STROUDSBURG — The Pocono Arts Council will present "Art as Spirituality" exhibition in its ARTSPACE Gallery from March 2 to 24.
This special exhibition is sponsored by Opportunity Associates, a local interfaith-based organization whose focus is to develop a more just and humane society, increasing the appreciation of diversity, and creating opportunity for all. Artists expressed their personal or universal understanding of spirituality in the show, which is open to all media and artists, students, amateurs and professionals.
Michael Barnett will serve as juror for the show. He is a visual artist, poet and historian with a divinity degree from Moravian College, Bethlehem, Pa.
The $5 entry fee makes the opportunity available to a wide audience. Many works will be available for purchase. Delivery of artwork is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 27, 1 to 6 p.m.
The artists’ reception and awards presentation, including cash prizes, will take place on Saturday, March 10, 2 to 4 p.m.
The Pocono Arts Council is a local arts service organization serving Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike and Wayne counties. Its mission is to build the community artistically and culturally by providing leadership, service, and education.
