HONESDALE - Brilliant color, vibrant textures, like the first signs of spring, are going up on a wall in the new building on the Wayne Memorial Hospital campus in Honesdale. It’s the result of an “alliance” with the Wayne County Arts Alliance,, a not-for-profit organization governed entirely by volunteer members. Local artists agreed to exhibit their work on a rotating basis in The David Katz Conference Room on the second floor, above the Hospital’s new Emergency Department. Marilyn Swendsen, the hospital’s corporate compliance officer and member of the Arts Alliance says the exhibit is intended to support the mission of both the Hospital and the alliance by “enhancing and inspiring lives through the color, shapes, and images of artists and the healing hands and hearts of healthcare workers.” The artworks are for sale through the alliance and only current, dues paying members of the WCAA may exhibit. For more information about becoming an alliance member or the exhibit, contact the alliance at 570-253-6850 or visit waynecountyartsalliance.org.
