The Fork at Twin Lakes adds to the dining experience SHOHOLA — Even after all the recent changes that The Fork at Twin Lakes has undergone - chef/owner Peter Daniels’ battle with Leukemia, renaming and rebranding the restaurant, as well as revamping the menu and dining style - the restaurant has yet another element they are adding to their evolving business. On Jan. 29, they opened their doors to unveil a new bar and bar menu. Without a sit-down bar for more than two decades, The Fork at Twin Lakes is bringing one back better than ever. “It was a tough decision to make - to take on the expense and even more change in such a short period of time,” said Daniel, with a twinkle in his eye. “But it’s absolutely beautiful and change is good.” “We are excited to add this ingredient to our business,” adds pastry chef, co-owner and spouse, Sharon Daniel. “It was fun developing the new bar menu. We will be offering traditional bar food, as well the Small Plate items that are more characteristic of our fresh seasonal, Contemporary American style.” The Daniels purchased the property and business in 1986, and closed off the bar to open up more space for seating in the main dining room and to be in line with the vision they once had for Le Gorille. Over the course of the last 24 years, the property, the business, and the Daniels have undergone many changes and their cuisine, quality of food, and dining experience has been brought to a new level. “Jack’s Bar Room at The Fork” (named after Peter’s father Jack Daniel) has a six-stool copper-topped bar and is spacious enough for those wishing to enjoy a cocktail and a bite to eat, while still allowing others to sit in the lounge before enjoying dinner in the Fork’s main dining room. Adding to its appeal, Jack’s Bar has a craftsman style exterior, swivel backed stools, wrought iron foot rail and a traditional Chicago rail. The restaurant will now offer a bar menu, served only in the bar room and will include Jack’s Burger, fish and chips, wings, and Small Plates from their main menu. The Fork at Twin Lakes will continue to offer fresh seasonal cuisine with their new menu concept featuring Small, Big and Sweet plates, in conjunction with the traditional menu style of appetizers, main courses and desserts. The creative menu style encourages a tasting of several small plates or the combination of small and large plates. The rustic, yet sophisticated country setting at 814 Twin Lakes Road in Shohola offers a casual, intimate atmosphere while delivering a fine dining experience. The Fork at Twin Lakes is both a neighborhood restaurant and a destination for people seeking reasonably priced, distinctive and well-crafted food. The restaurant was primarily a bar in the 1930s and 40s when the bathrooms were outhouses and the area had more bears than residents. The Fork at Twin Lakes
