About Hotel Fauchère
Founded in 1852, by Delmonico’s master chef Louisis Fauchère, the Hotel Fauchère was operated by the Fauchère family for 124 years, until closing in 1976. After a painstakingly-detailed five year restoration by owners Richard L. Snyder and Sean Strub, the hotel and its two restaurants reopened to great acclaim in 2006. Bar Louis, on the hotel’s ground level, has a strikingly contemporary design aesthetic featuring photography by the Hilton Brothers and Christopher Makos, including a giant photograph of John Lennon and Andy Warhol behind the bar. Bar Louis offers bistro-style global cuisine, including its popular signature dish, Sushi Pizza.
