Battle commemoration programs planned
MINISINK FORD, N.Y. The 230th Anniversary commemoration of the Battle of Minisink at the Sullivan County’s Minisink Battleground Park will take place July 17 and 18. The park is opposite Lackawaxen at Minisink Ford, N.Y. An 18th century encampment by the Navasing Long Rifles and Third Ulster Militia, will be open for public inspection Friday and the Saturday. July 18 itinerary will include: battle discussions with re-enactors, from 12-2 p.m.,; program at the park pavilion by Peter Osborne and Mark Hendrickson on “Pension Records from the Battle,” at 2:30 p.m. ; and at 4 p.m. the traditional observance at the monument featuring Sullivan County Historian John Conway as keynote speaker.
