Benefit holiday dinner-dance for library
MILFORD Invitations are available now for the Jingle Bell Ball, Dec. 8, at the Pocmont Resort, a benefit evening for the Pike County Public Library that promises lots of fun and good food. “No one should miss this fabulous event,” said Betty Hague, library board member and liaison for the fundraising committee for library operations. “This is going to be a fantastic evening of music and dining with a wonderful group of supporters of the library’s current operations.” “You don’t want to miss this night at the Pocmont Resort. Bring family and friends and have a great night out,” said Miriam Siegel, co-chair with Mrs. Hague for the dinner-dance and an associate member of the library board. A dinner-dance each fall was a tradition of the library for a number of years. The committee is happy to bring the tradition back in a new setting at the Pocmont Resort on Bushkill Falls Road, in Lehman Township. The grand buffet will feature elegant dining stations with a wide variety of menu choices. Tickets are $100 a person and are available at the Pike County system libraries in Dingman Township, Lackawaxen Township and Milford. The deadline for reservations is November 20. Dress for the event is optional black tie, giving the ladies a chance to bring out a fine cocktail or long dress. During the evening, the winning ticket in the raffle for a flat panel television will be drawn. The raffle tickets are available from the libraries and from dinner-dance committee members. The raffle features a 32-inch Vizio liquid crystal display high definition television. Tickets are $5 donation each or three for $10. Members of the dinner-dance committee in addition to Mrs. Hague and Mrs. Siegel, are: Rusty Coelho, Bill Griffin, Carole Linkiewicz, Alice Jane Loewrigkeit, Doris Mooney, Rob Rohner, Gayle Schuster; Marie Stieh; Gail Wershing and Charlotte Zulick. All of the funds raised from the dinner- dance and the raffle go to existing library operations. The library’s operations fundraising committee’s purpose is to fund existing library services. A goal of $84,000 is to be raised this year through fundraising efforts.
