Book swap celebrates America Recycles Day

| 31 Oct 2017 | 05:09

— Bring your beloved and dusty books to the sixth annual free book swap co-hosted by SEEDS and NaturED.
Whether you bring ten, one or none on Saturday, Nov. 18, you have from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to browse at the Wayne County Park Street Complex in Honesdale and fill your arms (or bags and boxes) with literary loot. There are no requirements, no limitations. The only goal is see every book in a new home.
Do you have “a whole bunch of books” to drop off? Donors of large quantities (50 or more) are encouraged to arrive early. Place the number of books on the outside of each bag or box for quick calculating. The event’s collection and distribution totals are recorded and submitted to the America Recycles Day website for bragging rights. Large quantities can be unloaded on Thursday, Nov. 16, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and Friday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Community neighbors, organizations, agencies, businesses, groups, artists, and collectors are encouraged to participate in this annual free event, which has relocated tens of thousands of books to new homes and families. It is one of the single largest recycling events in the area.
This year’s Presenting Sponsor is the Wayne County Bar Association. This year’s Book Sponsor is Frey-Fetsock Funeral Home.
