Milford - The Columns Museum cordially invites all to take advantage of some of their holiday offerings being brought this way throughout the month of December. The Columns, along with the Pike County Historical Society, say they will be hosting a couple of events sure to not only warm your hands from the winter freeze, but also your hearts for the holiday season. On Saturday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 9, The Columns will be offering horse-drawn carriage rides between 3 and 5 p.m. The 20-minute ride, with narration, will depart from The Columns Museum, located at 608 Broad Street in Milford, on the half hour. On Sunday, Dec. 10, the Pike County Historical Society will host The Columns museum’s annual holiday party, featuring the Deanery Choir and The Tri-State Community Chorus. The house will be decorated by the Milford Garden Club. The afternoon of holiday cheer is free of charge and the hours are from 3 to 6 p.m. On Sunday, Dec. 17, The Columns will host a reading of a play titled, “Christmas 1933,” by the American Readers Theater. The reading depicts a man caught in a horrific snowstorm, in 1933, while trying to get into town to do a little Christmas shopping. This will be performed at 3 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $15. The staff and board of directors of the Pike County Historical Society wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season.
