Chamber music concert upcoming - World class performers to entertain

    MILFORD — The Pike County Arts Council is sponsoring a special evening of world class chamber music in Shohola, Pennsylvania featuring Elliot Rosoff, violin; Fatima Aaziza, violin; Brett Deubner, viola; David Bakamjian, cello; and Luba Slepoi, piano. The ensemble will perform works by Bach, Schubert and Brahms. The concert will take place on Saturday, Aug. 16, at 8 p.m. at the residence of John Klemeyer, Arts Council president, at 108 Tulip Circle, Shohola. Refreshments will be by Le Gorille, also of Shohola, Pennsylvania. Tickets are $60 and may be obtained in writing with a check to Pike County Arts Council 402 Broad Street, Milford, PA 18337 or by calling 570-296-8340. Elliot Rosoff is a frequent performer in and now a resident of Pike County. The former concertmaster of the New York City Ballet Orchestra, his career has spanned decades of orchestral and chamber music as well as recordings of some of the most famous rock and pop albums of the past 50 years. Brett Deubner received his bachelors in violin and masters in viola from the Eastman School of Music where he studied with Zvi Zeitlin, Martha Katz, and John Graham. Fatima Aaziza bom in Krakow Poland is a recent graduate student from the Juilliard School where she studied with Ronald Copes and Naoko Tanaka. Cellist David Bakamjian performs regularly as a recitalist, chamber player, recording artist and as a member of several New York area ensembles, and has performed at New York’s premiere concert halls. A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Ms Slepoi started playing piano at the age of 6 and continued her musical studies at Mussorgsky School of Music and later at St. Petersburg State Conservatory of Music. Her concert appearances in Russia included performances at St. Petersburg State Capella, Maly (Small) Hall of Philharmonic, and St. Petersburg Conservatory Hall.
