BUSHKILL - It’s “Broadway for kids” and all-out family fun as the Mountain Laurel Center for the Performing Arts presents “Dora the Explorer Live! Dora’s Pirate Adventure” for four shows July 8 and 9. Children’s programming has no bigger star than the proudly bilingual Dora, whose award-winning Nickelodeon animated TV series is the number one preschool show on television. The colorful live musical show, with actors portraying Dora and her pals, will be performed Saturday, July 8 at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Sunday, July 9 at 1 p.m., with another performance just added at 4 p.m. Pavilion tickets, ranging from $15 to $25 each, are on sale now online or by phone through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com or 570-693-4100, or in person at the Center box office on Bushkill Falls Road. The Sunday 1 p.m. show will be sign-language interpreted by facilitators from the Northeast Pennsylvania Center for Independent Living in Scranton. A block of seats has been reserved for the deaf and hard of hearing for that performance; patrons should inform the ticket office of their request for this block when purchasing their tickets. This full-out spectacle will be the first ever at the Mountain Laurel Center. Complete with costumes, lights, and scenery, the Tom Ridge Pavilion will close its back doors, turn on the air conditioning, and prove its theatrical presence in the Pocono Mountains with “Dora the Explorer Live!”
