drinkinbuddy to play the Waterwheel

MILFORD drinkinbuddy, one of the Northeast’s most accomplished Americana and roots rock n’ roll bands, will be performing at the WaterWheel Café in Milford on Saturday Aug. 29, at 8:30 p.m. The band last visited Milford in June performing on the main stage of the Milford Music Festival where they entertained the crowd with an rocking mix of original and eclectic cover songs that showcased the band’s influences of rock, country, roots and reggae. They have made the trip to the Waterwheel, one of their favorite venues to play, on a yearly basis to perform for a consistently packed room. Formed over ten years ago, the current drinkinbuddy lineup features original members Jim Treutlein (guitar and vocals), Joe Perricone (keys, guitar and vocals) and Wastage resident Mike Smith (harmonica and mandolin). Rounding out the current lineup are Debra Novak (bass and vocals) and Mike Leuci (drums). The collective group has a wealth of experience playing with some of the most respected names in music. Jim Treutlein recently recorded a song with Levon Helm, legendary voice of The Band, backing him on drums and harmony vocals. Joe Perricone has toured Europe playing keyboards for Jamaica’s legendary Godfather of Ska, Laural Aitken. Band members have also opened for and shared the stage such major acts as Martina McBride, the Subdudes, George Thorogood, the Flatlanders, Steve Miller Band, the Wailers, Jimmy Cliff, Toots and the Maytals, Phish, Blues Traveler and Fishbone. The WaterWheel Café, celebrating their 20th Anniversary, is a unique performance space with excellent acoustics and sight lines located in a refurbished 150 year old mill. The Watrerwheel boasts a world class menu ranging from neuvo-American inspired classics, to innovative Vietnamese specialties and great pub food at the bar. Table dinner reservations are strongly recommended.
