MILFORD — Marlene Eagle Druhan’s paintings will be featured this month at Gallery on Seventh, in Milford. Her visiting artist exhibition will run through to Aug. 31. Marlene is a self taught artist, poet and author of “Naked Soul” (Llewllyn 1998) and upcoming works in the genre of literary fiction. Durhan is loyal to fine art and visionary art combining disciplines toward the single goal of expressing the internal life of her subjects. She has exhibited in Pa., N.J. and Va. and her works are in private collections. Marlene said, “My recent collection of paintings on display at Gallery on Seventh are titled “Night Song.” Night Song is a visual meditation of paintings, poetry and photographic prayers that focus on the light that is present during the dark night of the soul. It strives to acknowledge the struggle of transition as well as the light of beauty and higher power that inevitably enables us to endure. In essence I tried to illuminate the deep well where birth, death, passion and the creative impulse mingle to provide a mirror for universal experience, however personal.” Gallery on Seventh is located 113 Seventh Street, in Milford. Gallery hours are Thursday-Friday-Sunday, 11-5; Saturday 11-6; Monday 11-3; open till 9 for Art After Dark; closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Call 570 297 6082.
