Ducks Down the River Fundraiser

| 29 Sep 2011 | 03:27

The Matamoras-Westfall women’s Keystone Club is sponsoring a duck race on the Delaware River July 4th. Each duck has a separate number on it that corresponds to a numbered ticket. The Matamoras Firemen will release the ducks at about 10 AM from Riverside Beach in Port Jervis. The ducks will float down river to the Matamoras-Port Jervis Bridge where other firemen are waiting to capture them. The ticket holders with the number’s of the first three ducks to reach the bridge will receive $150, $75, or $50. Tickets are $5 each and may be purchased from any Keystone member or contact Jane Drake at 570-491-4202. The funds derived by this duck race will be used to help pay for the new Christmas wreaths ordered for the new pedestrian street lights in Matamoras.
