DV Turkey Trot to raise money for food pantries
MILFORD — The DV Turkey Trot 5K will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, on the scenic Delaware Valley High School cross country course.
The event promotes running in the area and assists local food pantries to prevent hunger this upcoming holiday season. All runners and walkers are asked to bring a canned food item to the event. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the pantries.
The race can be run or walked. Prizes will be awarded to age division winners. The top male and female winners will receive a frozen turkey.
A kid’s fun run and basket raffle will be held on the track following the 5K.
Preregister at dvturkeytrot.wix.com/dvturkeytrot with a payment of $20. Race day registration opens at 9 a.m. at a price of $25. Race day registration includes a food ticket and raffle ticket, along with T-shirts and goodie bags as supplies last.
New this year: Automatic timing and indoor facilities will be available for registration, warm up, lunch and awards. DV's Future Business Leaders of America members are volunteering for the event as course guides and promoters.
"So come out and join us for a gobbling good time!" the organizers say.
