— "When Art Meets Music: Elizabethan Era" starts off the new season of Kindred Spirits Arts Programs.
The Bacheler Consort returns to Milford on Saturday, May 20, with music and song by Renaissance composers such as John Dowland and William Byrd, complemented by a slideshow of paintings by artists of that period, like Caravaggio.
Kindred Spirits are bringing other nationally and internationally known musicians playing classical music, contemporary folk rock, early music, Latin jazz, operetta, and more (see sidebar for complete list of upcoming performances).
In keeping with Kindred Spirits' mission, children under 15 are admitted free, and some of the artists will give workshops for Delaware Valley High School students.
Tickets for Kindred Spirits concerts cost $20 at the door or $15 when bought in advance at kindredspiritsarts.org; or at Holy Crepes at 224 Broad St. in Milford, PA. There is no advance discount for concerts held in venues other than the Milford Theatre.
A $110 season pass guarantees admission to all events from May through December, saves attendees money, and is transferable. Dates, artists, and programs are subject to change.
These events are supported in part by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. Kindred Spirits is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization.
