Enrollment ending for Milford School of Music new summer programs
MILFORD What do hand drumming, Irish fiddling, ukulele, song writing and improvisation have in common? These are just some of the special new programs being offered by Milford School of Music this summer. The variety of new programs includes weekly private instruction and small group classes, plus daily week long ensemble camps. Private instruction programs include hand drumming (African, Caribbean or Middle Eastern), Irish fiddling, ukulele, and harmonica. Small group classes include, Song Writing, Guitar Duets, Improvisation, Ear Training, and Theory. The week long Ensemble Camps are designed for performance and offer an opportunity for musicians to meet and perform with other musicians of a similar level and with similar interests. A variety of music styles are offered including chamber, jazz, and band. All instruments are welcome. There’s even an ensemble camp for ukuleles. “Conducting special summer programs is a new direction for us.” according to John Brodersen, Director of Operations for Milford School of Music. “Everyone here is excited that we are able to offer something new and fun for this summer and we’re hopeful that people will take advantage of the new opportunities.” The special summer programs will be offered between July 5 and Aug. 14. Registration ends, Saturday June 26.
