Explore autumn forests and wildlife at Saturday program
HAWLEY Celebrate Pennsylvania’s peak fall foliage season by embarking on a short nature hike at PPL’s Shuman Point natural area from 10-11:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6. Paul Kowalczyk, PPL forester, will lead this leisurely walk while discussing how human intervention affects the forest as well as wildlife abundance and diversity. Wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather. Feel free to embark on the three-mile loop hike afterward. The program, which is free and open to the public, will take place at PPL’s Shuman Point natural area on Route 590. Registration is required.
