— Local actors of all ages will tell horse-themed stories at the first-ever “Fireside Horse Tales” at GAIT Therapeutic Riding Center, 314 Foster Hill Rd., Milford.
The festivities will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9. It starts with a barn tour to meet the GAIT horses — and a special “Kissing Booth” featuring GAIT’s tiniest and most adorable equine, Midnight the pony. (Bring your cameras. Midnight will gratefully accept any cash donations!)
At 7 p.m., participants will gather around the firepit outside for storytelling (if weather permits). Dress warmly and bring a blanket or camp chair. In case of rain, the storytellers, provided by the American Readers Theatre, will move to the inside arena.
The American Readers Theatre is a not-for-profit performing arts organization that promotes literacy through dance, music, and drama. It was founded in 1992 by acting teacher Jeffrey Stocker.
GAIT Therapeutic Riding Center is a non profit organization with the mission to improve the lives of children and adults with special needs utilizing equine activities and therapy.
Tickets are $5 per child, $10 per adult, and $25 for a family of four or more.
