MILFORD - The Artery Gallery has a new exhibition featuring photography by Randall Fitzgerald and artistry in glass by Elisa Ferracane. Randall Fitzgerald resides in Layton, N. J. and is a biologist, behavioral ecologist and environmental educator with Montclair State University’s School of Conservation in Branchville, N.J. Fitzgerald has pursued the art of photography for over 35 years, photographing a variety of subject matter and studying the works of many of the great photographic artists. His love of the natural environment has permeated both his professional and photographic life, and consequently most of his fine art images reflect the intimacy he enjoys with the natural world. The current collection of images on exhibit includes a variety of prints from Switzerland, Kentucky and the Florida Everglades. Elisa Ferracane, a noted artist and designer, will be displaying works in glass. Her glasswork includes multicolored, hand-formed vases with etched figures and designs. Her work is highly prized by collectors and is in the collections of notables such as former President and Mrs. George H. Bush, John F. Kennedy, Jr. and Geraldine Ferraro. The back room of the spacious Artery Gallery will house a special exhibit titled: “Jewels of the Sea” featuring a large glass table decorated with aquatic designs hand oarved and etched by Ms. Ferracane. There will be an abundance of luminescent sea creatures carved in glass along with marine life photographs by Mr. Fitzgerald. The Artery Gallery is located in the Forest Hall Building, at the stop light in Milford. The exhibit opens Oct 12 and ends Nov. 5. There will be a reception on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 2 to 5 p.m. The public is invited to the reception and gallery artists will be in attendance. The Artery is open Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For further information, phone 570-469-1234 or www.ARTeryOnline.com .
