Fossil Discovery Center opening

OGDENSBURG, N.J. The Fossil Discovery Center at Sterling Hill Mining Museum will again open April 10, with Dr. James Brown as the guide and instructor. This new fun and educational activity for all ages began as a pilot program in 2009 and will continue to be held the second Saturday of each month. Participants have the opportunity to dig and collect six fossils using a general identification chart and ask one-on-one questions of their paleontologist. The event repeats every half hour beginning at 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. for a fee of $4.50 per individual. Each session is limited to 25 people on a first come, first served basis. The last session at 12:30 p.m. is not recommended for those intending to take the mine tour at 1 p.m. Reservations in advance are appreciated for groups of five or more.
