Four-hand piano concert this Saturday at DVAA

NARROWSBURG, N.Y. — Andrew Ranaudo and Nicole Brancato — together, known as 2Squared — will play a four-hand piano concert at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, 37 Main St., Narrowsburg, N.Y.
Ranaudo is an award-winning musician, composer, and teacher who has played venues around the world and makes his home in New York City.
“I'm excited to perform at DVAA because it is a homecoming,” Raunaudo said. “I may live in Brooklyn, but my soul belongs to Western Sullivan County, which has a character and mystique that you don't find everywhere. The Delaware River and the hills and woods that envelop it shaped my spirit and I'm delighted to be able to, as an adult, perform for the unique community that nurtured me as a child and inspires me as an adult.”
2Squared incorporates film selections into their performance, resulting in an audiovisual experience that’s imaginative, intellectual, and memorable.
“I've been combining music and visuals for over 10 years now,” Raunado said. “I've always been attracted to the idea of a gesamkunstwerk, creating a whole new other world to inhabit. As a pianist, as someone reared as a soloist, I'm particularly excited about the aspect of collaborating with other artists.”
Ranaudo and Brancato will play works by Franz Schubert, Felix Mendelssohn, Alfredo Casella, and Erik Satie, with visual collaborations by Patte Loper and Sarah Nicole Phillips. The Satie piece accompanies the Dadaist film “Entr'acte” by René Clair, which features cameos by Francis Picabia, Man Ray, Marcel Duchamp and Satie himself.
Admission is free thanks to the support of Larry and Shain Fishman. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Salon Series continues with an artists’ talk and panel discussion on March 10 and a screening of the film "Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story" on March 24. All events are free and take place at 2 p.m. in Krause Recital Hall.
