DINGMAN - The United Way of Pike County is sponsoring the fourth annual Pike County Family Community Expo, to be held this year on Sunday, May 21. The event will again be hosted by the Camp Speers-Eljabar. The YMCA is located on Nichecronk Road off Route 739 in Dingmans Ferry. Expo Chair Sue Robbins said “Pike United Way is working along with several community partners to sponsor this free interactive family event for Pike County residents of all ages.” The expo features educational and promotional exhibits from non-profit organizations, county agencies, health care providers, child care providers and family friendly businesses along with local entertainment. The expo has flourished. Last year forty exhibitors provided activities for the enjoyment of over 750 participants, Robbins added. Ravenell Williams, Executive Director Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA, said “Camp Speers provides a wonderful setting for Pike County residents to gather with our local community organizations and family businesses for this informative and fun event. The YMCA is pleased to offer our site so that these local organizations are able to promote their mission and the services they offer our Pike community.” The event date will be on, rain or shine, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. There is no registration fee for participating, however, the focus of the day is participation; in this spirit every exhibitor is asked to have an educational or fun activity at their table to encourage family participation.
