DINGMANS FERRY — Come out for a fun day at the 6th annual Pike County Family Community Expo on Sunday, June 1st. The Expo is sponsored by the United Way of Pike County, and admission is free! This family fun event will be held rain or shine from 1-4 p.m. at the Speers Lodge at YMCA Camp Speers-Eljabar, located on Nichecronk Road off state Route 739 in Dingmans Ferry. Pike County agencies will present information about their services while providing family friendly, hands-on activities. Social service agencies, early childhood care providers, and other medical, non-profit and community organizations will be represented. Refreshments will be available from Camp Speers-Eljabar for a small fee. In addition to exhibitors, the free entertainment will include pony rides and performances from local children’s groups. This year they are pleased to also feature the Raptor Center which will conduct a program entitled “Close Encounters with Birds of Prey.” The Raptor Center will bring five live raptors and will present a fascinating view into the lives of raptors. “The Expo is a family-oriented, educational event. Join us for this wonderful day of entertainment and learning about your local community agencies!” said Sue Robbins, UWPC Board Secretary and Expo Chair. “The United Way of Pike County is grateful to the Pike County Alliance for Prevention for funding the Raptor Center presentation. We are also very appreciative of Camp Speers-Eljabar for providing free pony rides and for continuing to host this event,” said UWPC President Christine Obser.
