Gran Torino at CineArt Theater

    CALLICOON, N.Y. — Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and the Callicoon Theater present Gran Torino, directed by and starring Clint Eastwood as a disgruntled Korean War vet, Walt Kowalski who sets out to reform his neighbor, Tao Vang Lor, a young Hmong teenager (played by newcomer Bee Vang) who tried to steal Kowalski’s prized possession: his 1972 Ford Gran Torino. The two strike up an unlikely friendship as a result. Gran Torino is rated R and will be screened Friday, Feb. 27 through Tuesday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m., with matinees on Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m., at Callicoon Theater, 30 Upper Main Street, Callicoon, N.Y. Admission is $8. Monday admission is $6. A percentage of the profits and $1 per person from ticket sales benefit the programs and services of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, the Arts Council for Sullivan County, N.Y. CineArt is a partnership between Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and the Callicoon Theater that promotes and screens independent, foreign, and art films.
