Halloween contra dance to be held at The Cooperage

— Bring a partner with you, or find a partner at the Cooperage Project, which is holding a Halloween contra dance from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27.
Live music is by Laura Courtright and Craig Gehrig. All are welcome to dress in costume.
Beginners are welcome. Guest caller Bob Nicholson will offer a beginner lesson starting at 7:15 p.m.
The suggested donation is $10. Children under 15 will be admitted free.
Contra dance is a folk dance made up of long lines of couples. It has mixed origins from English country dance, Scottish, French dance styles in the 17th century, with a strong African influence from Appalachia.
“A Contra Dance” is a series at The Cooperage Project that takes place once a month between April and December. The Cooperage is located at 1030 Main St. in Honesdale. It is operated by the The Cooperage Project, a not-for-profit organization that seeks to build community through performance events, learning opportunities, markets and good times.
