LACKAWAXEN — Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain is a great place to go for family fun. They offer skiing, snowboarding, and tubing, and if you’re interested in lessons, they offer both private and group lessons. There’s fun for all ages both on the slopes and in the lodge, where one can eat, relax by the fire, or even play arcade games. Zach Kiesendahl, age 8, really enjoyed his recent outing at Ski Big Bear with his dad, remarking, “I’m having a great time! The snow is awesome and I am glad we came out to ski today.” There are even more reasons to come out to Ski Big Bear this weekend — they will be hosting a special United Way community food drive and fundraiser this weekend, March 7 through 9. They are generously donating a portion of every ticket sold to the United Way of Pike County and will be collecting non-perishable food for local food banks. In fact, if you bring two non-perishable food items, you will receive a discount on your lift ticket purchase. Take advantage of the recent snow and come out this weekend for family fun while supporting a great cause. Donations to the United Way of Pike County are given to local human service agencies here in Pike County and fund a variety of activities including providing food and rental assistance, disaster relief, and therapy for special-abled children and adults.
