How did yesterday look

Bev Nerenberg is pictured with her cat Porgy spinning wool yarn from a sheep named Ajax. Draped over her shoulder is one of her handwoven blankets. Bev has been interested in fibers since her aunt taught her knitting at age 10. At 12, she visited a reenactment village where demonstration on looming and spinning wheel were held. Her interested in fibers grew and as an adult, she opened the Village Weaving Studio located in Greenwich Village. It served as a production studio for items sold in boutiques and department stores in New York; a retail yarn, weaving and spinning supply store; and a haven where students could take classes in weaving, spinning and dyeing. Nerenberg has now returned to her “first love” of weaving and spinning on her numerous looms. She will be doing demonstrations at Wallenpaupack Historical Society “Yesterday’s Work” event on Aug. 18th, 11 to 4 p.m., at 103 Manor Woods Court, off state Route 507, Paupack. (Contributed photo)
