WALPACK CENTER, N.J. — On Sunday, Sept. 13, The Walpack Inn will host a special benefit for the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America. It will be the destination for a Poker and Lime Run but everyone is welcome. A huge outdoor concert featuring Big Boss Sausage, Brian McLoughlin, The Pacifists of Fury, and the Juicy Black Cherries will top off the day. There will be food, door prizes, 50/50’s, classic cars and a cash bar. Poker and Lime Run participants can sign up at Baer Sport Center at 330 Grandview Ave. in Honesdale, from 9 a.m. till noon. The bike run will go through Pike, Sullivan, Orange and Sussex Counties. Helmets are required. The run ends at the Walpack Inn on state Route 615 in Wallpack Center, NJ. The donation for the benefit is $20 and includes a T-Shirt, Food and Admission to the concert. The event is rain or shine. “Bring your lawn chair, sandals, pith helmet and mother-in-law. This beautiful setting is a spectacular way to say goodbye to summer and welcome the fall. Oh, we also have an amazing stage and bohemian dance off,” added long winded event promoter Mingo Lodge. The show will begin at 1 p.m. and go till the early evening. The Walpack Inn is an ideal location for shows and events. Years ago The Beach Boys, Arlo Guthrie and Pete Seeger preformed on this site and it may be the home for the next Big Bandingo Festival. Besides the picturesque mountain setting, the restaurant is legendary for its superb cuisine and homemade bread. “A perfect stop for any weary traveler,” adds Lodge, again.
