It's time to frighten those crows again
MILFORD Fall is here and the third annual Scarecrow Festival & Contest at the Old Lumberyard shops will be this Saturday. Everyone is invited to be part of this seasonal festival. It will take place in the courtyard of the Old Lumberyard Shops, in Milford. Come and create a scarecrow to submit into the contest, or just come to play games, enter into raffles with our local vendors, decorate a pumpkin, or participate in some of the fun music and craft-making events. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10 (raindate Sunday, Oct. 11). Setup for the scarecrow contest begins on Oct. 10. If you can’t make it, bring in your own scarecrow creation and leave it, any time from Saturday, Oct. 10 through Sunday, Oct. 25, and it will be entered into the contest to win great prizes. Whether or not you decide to create a scarecrow, be sure to stop into the Old Lumberyard before Halloween to check out these local creations, from the gorgeous to the gruesome. Bring old clothes or costumes to decorate your scarecrow. Scarecrows will remain on display until Halloween. The Old Lumberyard Shops are located at 113 7th Street in Milford.
