Jimmy Sturr headlines Honor Flight benefit concert
GOSHEN — Eighteen-time Grammy winner Jimmy Sturr headlines "America the Beautiful," a benefit concert for the Hudson Valley Honor Flight, to be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Historic Track, 44 Park Place, Goshen, N.Y.
Special guests include Chris Caffery of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and singer/comedian Joe Piscopo of Saturday Night Live Fame.
The cost is $25 in advance of $30 at the gate. Make checks payable to America the Beautiful Concert, Box 1, Florida, NY 10921.
The gate opens at 4 p.m., rain or shine. There is open seating. No refunds will be provided.
About Hudson Valley Honor FlightHudson Valley Honor Flight a nonprofit organization that honors veterans by transporting them to Washington, D.C., to visit their memorials at no cost to the veterans. It is a local hub of the National Honor Flight Network, which consists of more than 100 independent non-profit “hubs” across America.
The flights leave several times a year out of Stewart International Airport and Westchester County Airport. Hudson Valley Honor Flight serves veterans from the following counties: Orange (NY), Ulster (NY), Dutchess (NY), Westchester (NY), Rockland (NY), Sullivan (NY), Putnam (NY), Pike (PA), Bergen (NJ), and Fairfield (CT). Veterans from other surrounding counties are considered as well.
Top priority is given to World War II veterans and terminally ill veterans from other wars.
