MILFORD - The romance of fine champagne comes again to Milford as the Laurel Villa Country Inn & Restaurant hosts a “Champagne Bubble Bash”, a tasting of five imported and domestic sparkling wines, on Friday, Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m. “Tired of winter? Suffering from cabin fever? Then get yourself ready for a perfect Valentine’s Day!”, said Janice Halsted, innkeeper at the Laurel Villa. “Surprise your special someone with something new and exciting.” Included in the eveing will be such unusual selections as Wolf Blass Sparkling Brut from Australia, Greg Norman Sparkling and Gloria Ferrer Blanc de Blancs, both from California, and a Frescobaldi Brut from Italy. Each will be presented and discussed by John Foley of Capital Wines and Spirits. “We’ll hold the “Champagne Bubble Bash” by the blazing fire in the Inn’s parlor,” said Halsted. “It’s totally casual, so guests can relax after their work week as they learn about and enjoy these fine sparkling wines.” Laurel Villa’s Chef Carl will create a selection of hot hors d’oeuvres to accompany the event, and guests who choose to stay for dinner will receive 15% off their entree. “We’ve already had office groups call to book the event together,” says Halsted. “It’s a great way to warm up a cold winter night.” Seating for the “Champagne Bubble Bash” is limited and reservations, at $25 per person, should be made by Sunday, January 22. For reservations and more information, call 570-296-9940. The Laurel Villa is located at Second and Ann Streets in Milford.
