Long John Silver' will read
Winter Lights Festival features actor Greg Giblin Milford Keeping with a Treasure Island theme, Long John Silver, played by local actor Greg Giblin, will be performing readings in the Fellowship Hall at the First Presbyterian Church, at 308 Broad St. in Milford, as a part of the first annual Winter Lights - Festival of the Arts. Every half hour on Saturday, Jan. 24, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 25 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Long John Silver, aka Greg Giblin, will be reading various excerpts from the famous book “Treasure Island” by Robert Louis Stevenson; and as a bonus to his guests they will each be made honorary Winter Lights Pirates with fake tattoos. Greg Giblin, a Pike County resident, is a member of the American Readers Theatre and the National Arts Club in New York City and was last seen at Grey Towers in “Forevermore.” Over the years, his career has given him a range of character performances from “Charlotte’s Web” and “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” to “Dracula” and “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Locally, he has been heralded by the Times Herald-Record as best actor in a play “Man Who Came to Dinner and Proof,” and best supporting actor in a musical “Earthbound” and “South Pacific,” As with all the other events that will be going on during the week-long festival, this too is a free event, with the exception of a donation for the food pantry.
