Local artists featured in next weekend’s performances Milford — The line-up for the July 12-13 Milford Music Festival was announced in June at the annual fundraiser, which was held at Laurel Villa Country Inn and Restaurant in Milford. Keeping in-line with the smaller budget, the festival has kept a local angle of artists with a couple of new and exciting musical groups, including the winners of Milford Chrylser’s talent contest last year. Headlining the Milford Music Festival this year will be local musical veteran Bobby Kyle. “We are very excited to be able to bring the local artists out and put more of them on the main stage this year, especially along side diverse, fresh talent from outside the area,” said Amy Eisenberg, Chair of the Milford Music Festival. “The fundraiser was a great success! While only nine tickets were purchased in advance, there were more than 80 people in attendance at The Laurel Villa on Thursday night. Many of these individuals were on the complimentary/sponsor list and came out to support the festival above and beyond their sponsorship pledges,” stated Eisenberg. “Between tickets, a 50/50 drawing, and the silent auction, we raised $4,000 in a matter of 2 hours, all of which will benefit the Milford Music Festival.” The headlining act — The Bobby Kyle Band — a local band that has had a long-spanning, varied career that has led them all over the world will bring blunt and to the point, blues guitarist Bobby Kyle’s singular stylings to the main stage. Resonating with maturity, talent and inspiration, he brings us a genesis of contemporary music that is characteristically all his own. Honest and forthright, Bobby’s original songs tell the story of Everyman with a passion born of life, love and loss. Other local artists include Ray Weeks Quartet, Violinist, Eugene Fiegelson, Scott Weis Band, The Ronny Whyte Trio and Eric Langberg and Bluestone, who will be performing on Sunday as a part of the Music in the Park portion of the Festival. This year’s headlining performance will end with an exclusive Blues jam session, where Bobby Kyle and Scott Weis will play together. Also playing the Festival is Wilkes Barre, PA native band, Zydecal, a five-man group that heats up the dance floor with the Cajun/Zydeco music of southwestern Louisiana and last year’s Milford Chrysler Talent Contest Winner from New York City, the Easy Tease, which is a burlesque indie-rock cabaret act.
