Native plants walk
MILFORD The Delaware Highlands Conservancy and the U.S. Forest Service at Grey Towers are pleased to present the third in a series of workshops for forest landowners. A Botany Walk will take place on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Milford Experimental Forest. Dr. Ann Rhoads, renowned author and botanist, will lead the walk and answer questions about the native plants found in a forested community. A tour of Grey Towers will be offered for participants following the walk. Dr. Rhoads’ books include “The Plants of Pennsylvania,” “The Vascular Flora of Pennsylvania,” and most recently, “Trees of Pennsylvania.” Dr. Rhoads was the Director of Botany for Morris Arboretum and taught Botany at the University of Pennsylvania. This walk is free and open to the public, but prior registration is required.
