MILFORD - An exhibition featuring mixed media paintings by Lisa Zukowski and framed dimensional paper sculpture by Chris Hobbs will open on Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Artery Gallery, in the Forest Hall Building at the stoplight in Milford. An opening reception on Saturday, Aug. 12, from 2 to 5 p.m. will give the public an opportunity to meet the artists. Lisa Zukowski will be showing mixed media paintings. In her work she brings together the physical and the experiential, expressing them in symbolic and abstract imagery. Lisa received her degree in painting and printmaking from Brooklyn College where she served as printer for the Brooklyn College Press Women’s Portfolio and the Creation Portfolio. Lisa is a two-time recipient of the Bernard Shaw Memorial Award for painting as well as many awards from local arts organizations. Her work has been exhibited in the United States and Italy where she conducts an art holiday each year in Tuscany. She currently serves as president of the Warwick Art League. Chris Hobbs has won Best-in Show and First Place Awards in the New Hope Annual Fine Arts Show and Cape May Fine Arts Exhibits. He works with highly detailed line drawings that are layered into 3-dimensional forms. His subject matter ranges from abstraction through landscape and architectural structures. Chris Hobbs’ love of detail, symmetry, dimension and color are evident in every piece. Twenty other members of this co-op gallery will have new work on display in the spacious Forest Hall Building Gallery. The gallery is open Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For more information call 570-409-1234.
