— The Peters Valley School of Craft will hold its annual studio open house, Bevans Day, and celebration of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area's 50th anniversary — all in one day.

Explore Peters Valley, one of the country's premier craft schools, at this free, family-friendly celebration, to be held rain or shine from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 3. Highlights include live music Joe McKay, Obi Kaye and Olivia Zinn, along with food, studio tours, artist demonstrations, kids' art activities, a mini-craft fair, a fine craft gallery exhibition, and shopping at the crafts store.

Demonstrators will be working in each of eight studios throughout the day. Watch artists as they forge metal, weave cloth, turn wood, carve sculptures, and create jewelry. Kids can help build a collaborative sculpture with artist Harry Bower. Parents can meet the instructors of the Youth Art Camps and sign their kids up for a session. Browse the current gallery exhibition, or the gallery's first-floor, which showcases the work of more than 200 American artists.

The Walpack Historical Society will display photos and literature about the history of the area.

The school is nestled in the beauty of the park in Layton, N.J. For more information visit petersvalley.org.
