Plans underway for Milford house tour

Milford — Mark your calendars for Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Plans for the tenth annual Safe Haven “Behind Closed Doors” House Tour are underway with the addition of a sixth house for the tour. This year Safe Haven is honoring Luisa Weinstein as the driving force behind ten years of house tours and for having helped to establish this tour as a major fundraiser for the organization. Tickets for the Safe Haven “Behind Closed Doors” House Tour are already available at a tax-deductible cost of $25 each. They can be purchased at: Bodies in Balance, Wheatfield Drive, Milford Patina Interiors, 320 Broad Street, Milford Century 21 Roy B. Hull, 205 E. Harford Street, Milford Safe Haven office, 500 West Harford St., Milford Last minute requests for tickets will be honored on the day of the event, from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m., on the lawn of the Pike County Library, Broad and Harford Sts. For further information, call the Safe Haven offices at (570) 296-2827. Safe Haven is a not-for-profit agency whose mission is to “restore dignity to individuals dealing with issues of domestic violence and sexual abuse through crisis intervention, supportive counseling, prevention/education, and community outreach.” There is a 24-hour crisis hotline (570-296-HELP) staffed by trained volunteers who have completed a 60-hour training course.
