Residency' exhibit at Peters Valley
Layton, N.J. Kicking off with an opening reception, Saturday, March 29, from 4-7 p.m, Peters Valley celebrates the artists who expanded their vision during the new Guest Artist Residency program which takes place each year from November to April. Running through Apr. 27, the exhibition will highlight the 50 artists who have taken part in the program, which began in 2005. The new program gives artists the opportunity to utilize the studios at Peters Valley while enjoying the pristine landscape and peaceful historic structures of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Through the generosity of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, a limited number of scholarships are available through this program to New Jersey residents. Residencies can be as short as one week or as long as two months and artists must undergo an application and selection process. Peters Valley is pleased to showcase these artists in the first ever Guest Artist Residency Exhibition. Please join us for the opening reception, to be held in the Sally D. Francisco Gallery on the second floor of the Store and Gallery which is located across the street from the main office at the intersection of state Route 615 and Kuhn Road, just minutes from the Dingman’s Ferry Bridge and Layton. The event is free and open to the public. Peters Valley Store & Gallery hours are Thursday-Tuesday, 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. There are no Wednesday hours.
