NARROWSBURG, N.Y. - Delaware Valley Arts Alliance is presenting Richard Hoehler: For Real, at the Tusten Theatre in Narrowsburg, N.Y. on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. In Richard Hoehler: For Real, directed by Leigh Strimbeck, actor Richard Hoehler takes the audience on an emotional roller coaster ride: qualifying at an AA meeting, auditioning for a Shakespeare play, spearheading a family crisis, welcoming an impending snowstorm, and paying his respects to a secret crush. At turns uproariously funny and deeply moving, “this is deceptively simple theatre of the highest order,” says the Off Off Broadway Review. The one-man show draws material from two of Hoehler’s critically acclaimed solo shows which enjoyed successful Off-Broadway runs throughout the last decade: “Working Class” and “Heavy Mettle” (formerly “Human Resources”). “Working Class” was the winner of the Off Off Broadway Review Award for Best Solo Performance and optioned by Columbia Tri-Star after receiving raves at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland. “Heavy Mettle” won the Best of the Fest in 2002 Midtown International Theatre Festival in New York City and was described by The New York Times as “thoughtful, rewarding, on target … a final stage picture that is alone worth the price of admission.” Tickets are $12 at the door, $11 if purchased in advance. Reservations 845-252-7272.
